Roof Upgrade Port Credit

At Industrial Roofing, we recently wrapped up a major roof upgrade project in Port Credit. We’re excited to share how it turned out. The building’s old roof was causing some real headaches, with just 1 inch of insulation and pretty bad drainage issues. The property owner was dealing with energy loss, water pooling, and general discomfort. Our job was to fix those problems and give the building a roof upgrade that works better and lasts longer.

 

We started by installing a 2% slope insulation package, which not only helps the water drain properly but also significantly boosts the roof’s insulation. This upgrade improves the building’s energy efficiency, keeping it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Since the new insulation was thicker, we had to build up the edges of the roof to match the new height. This was an essential part of making sure everything fit together perfectly.

 

One of the challenges we faced was the building’s wooden deck. This required us to think carefully about safety during the installation. Instead of using traditional methods that involve open flames, which could be risky with wood, we went with Soprema’s cold-applied modified bitumen roof system. This was a safer choice that kept everyone on-site, including pedestrians, out of harm’s way, especially since this building is always busy. We made sure that proper ground safety measures were in place to protect anyone passing by while we worked.
