New Roof in Georgetown

At Industrial Roofing, we recently completed a new roof renovation project for a strip mall plaza in Georgetown. It was dealing with ongoing issues related to its ballasted EPDM roof membrane. The client reached out to us to install a new membrane, as the existing one had been causing persistent problems over time. Fortunately, the existing insulation and ballast were still in good condition. This allowed us to focus exclusively on the roof membrane installation, optimizing both time and resources.

We began the project by carefully removing the old EPDM membrane to prepare the structure for the roof replacement. After removing the existing membrane, we replaced it with Elevate EPDM, a top-tier material known for its durability, flexibility, and long-lasting performance. To further protect the roof, we installed a ballast-reducing fabric. This layer helps safeguard the membrane from potential damage caused by the ballast stones, thereby extending its lifespan. After the membrane and protective fabric were in place, we redistributed the ballast evenly across the roof area. To complete the project, we installed new perimeter sheet metal flashing, which securely encapsulates the EPDM membrane.

Additionally, we painted the gas lines and installed new gas line blocks for aesthetics and function. The end result was a durable new system that resolved the issues the client had been experiencing. The new Elevate EPDM membrane, combined with the protective fabric and new sheet metal flashing will serve the plaza well for many years.
