PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Industrial Roofing recently completed a sloped shingle roof replacement for a client in Uxbridge, Ontario. The existing roof was asphalt shingle and showed extreme wear and tear for such a short time after its replacement, only 12 years ago.

Upon our professional inspection, it quickly became very clear that poor ventilation within the attic space contributed to the early aging of the shingles, deteriorating them much quicker than expected. This led to the decision to replace the aging shingles with the addition of new ventilation. The old shingles were pulled off and replaced with CertainTeed Landmark Pro architectural shingles. These shingles are highly reputed to hold against the elements and can live a long life on pitched roofs, particularly in the Canadian climate. We also installed ridge vents to vastly improve airflow in the attic, an important phase in extending the life of the new shingle roof. Proper ventilation reduces the buildup of moisture and helps to prevent future damage to the roofing material.

With the new shingles up and the ventilation problems resolved, the client was very happy, not only with improved functionality, but also with an aesthetic upgrade. The sloped shingle roof replacement not only does a much better job of protecting against the elements, but it also looks fresh and new.
