Leaky Roof Renewal

A client in Concord needed a roof renewal after dealing with constant roof leaks for the past few years. The existing roof was a tired 4-ply built-up system that had reached the end of its service life. A portion of the roof had already been replaced with a modified bitumen system, so our plan was to complete the rest of the roof with the same material to maintain consistency and performance. Before diving into the replacement, we conducted test cuts in two particularly problematic areas to assess the underlying condition of the roof deck.

 

These test cuts revealed surface corrosion on the roof deck, caused by years of saturated insulation. Addressing this issue was crucial to ensure the longevity of the new roofing system. During the replacement process, we treated the corroded areas of the roof deck, preventing any future corrosion and providing a solid foundation for the new roof. After treating and prepping the roof deck, we installed the modified bitumen roofing system across the entire surface. We chose this material to match the previously replaced section and for its durability and resistance to the elements.

 

We completed the roof renewal quickly to minimize any disruption to the client’s daily operations.
